    (based on a true story) #5 Cérémonie.mov

On Wednesday, November 9, 2021, choreographer Marc Vanrunxt, dancer Samantha Van Wissen and filmmaker Stanislav Dobak left the dance studio to make a short film in the streets of Brussels. Samantha dances to the memory she has of 'Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turcs' by Jean-Baptiste Lully. Instead of Lully, we hear cars and other street sounds. (based on a true story) project #5 Cérémonie is set against the skyline of Brussels North, as seen from the Jubilee Bridge in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean.

    Mind's-eye

Mind's-eye is a film inspired by my current solo. Fear is an essential part of our survival mechanism anchored in our body to keep us safe, however the dangers of living in constant fear floods our system with corrosive hormones influencing the decisions we make. The anticipation of terror effects our behaviour and minds cultivating an infectious negative barrier in our ability to reason. An emotional experience altering moods, temperament and personality even resulting in psychological distress. This solo looks at the bodies response to fear as a infectious malignant. Witnessing how fear draws altering personalities because of the idea of living with threat. (The aftermaths of terrorism and Trump). The surge of fear cultivating as a living organism. The body becomes another. The ability to change form and take shape of a being not one's own but by the influences of the environment in which we put ourselves in. Negative minds get trapped into a labyrinth which passes behaviours from one to another and often without us realising. I question the choices of fear as I approach this solo, I believe the dangers are real but the choices of fear is not. A film by Jamie Lee and Stanislav Dobak www.memoryhouseproductions.com

Choreographer and dancer Anabel Schellekens returns to the living-room, this time in the company of Natasha Pire. In this intimate piece, dance literally brushes past the spectators. A unique experience! In a stirring duet two women ‘on the verge of a breakdown’ whisk you away into a world where everything is familiar and yet oh so strange.

    Dreams Trailer film series

The concept of dreams is very subjective, for dreams are brief, often fragmented, surreal, ... Dreams are full of emotions and vivid experiences that contain themes, concerns, dream figures, objects, beauty, wishes, fears, and memories. Undesirable memories can become suppressed in the mind. Dreams are the voice of our unconcious, where we bodilessly walk the thin line between reality and imagination. I became facinated and used my dreams as the source of creativity. Storytelling without words. Directed by Jamie Lee Composer: James Brown Technical: Stanislav Dobak Performers: Janet Novas, Stanislav Dobak, Daisy Ransom Phillips, Victoria Perez Miranda, Anuschka Von Oppen Supported by Charleroi Danses, Slovak Ministry of Culture More of dreams at www.memoryhouseproductions.com
